I grew up in Grand Junction. Chet taught his recipe and techniques. I still have my mom's notes. I made it yearly for my growing family. Now it's just me, so I buy it. All others are cheap imitations. .

I received the almond toffee as a gift this year, and I could not get enough of it! It was literally my favorite dessert/treat! I cannot recommend it enough! If you are a toffee lover and have never had this toffee you are missing the tastiest treat you’ve ever had! Five stars is not enough! I cannot wait to order more for myself! Delicious!!!

I am not a big candy type of person. In fact, I don't really care for chocolate at all, but I absolutely LOVE toffee. This toffee was given to me as a gift and all I have to say is WOW!!!! I'm in love with this! This the best toffee I have ever had! It's the perfect amount of nuts, toffee and chocolate. I'm hoping that the person gives me this as a gift again. My wife and I were gifted a small box last year. After not receiving another we tracked some down and placed an order. From the moment we opened the 2lb box it was ceremoniously perfect. We both reached for a piece and took a bite. As the toffee hit our tongues we quickly transcended into a heavenly flavor coma. The world around us stopped as we continued to consume more and more. I had purchased a 2 lb box off of QVC of the Milk Chocolate for the first time. It was So Good, ended up ordering a 4 lb box and a 2 lb box of the Dark Chocolate ( Not Bitter ). I actually wished the Dark Chocolate had a little more of a Bite to it. So close in taste to the Milk Chocolate variety. However the box was Emptied without a problem and I still would order both flavors.

But the milk chocolate toffee was very dark and tasted burned the almonds in it were over cooked too. Unfortunately it was in edible. My sister sends it every year and this is a first bad lot! Please check quality control. Yuk!

I received a box of Enstrom's Milk Chocolate Almond Toffee as a thank you gift from a client. When the package arrived, I opened it to find a beautifully wrapped gift box inside the shipping box. It was cold to the touch. Intrigued, the box was unwrapped to reveal what was inside. Never having known of Enstrom's Toffee and Confectionery previously, (I'm from the South) I wondered what this was all about. I opened the box and tried a small piece. Heaven! What a silky smooth, rich and buttery confection! And the texture was unlike any toffee I have ever tasted- somehow "soft" and yet still toffee with full body texture you would expect. But it almost melts in your mouth. Really! It was so fresh; it was immediately apparent the ingredients were of the finest quality. Both the top AND the bottom of the toffee pieces are coated in chocolate and nuts. What a treat! Now Enstrom's will become our source for lovely candies and confections too., for every occasion.

I received a box of dark chocolate toffee for Christmas from a co-worker and am just blown away! It's smooth and even though it's stored in the fridge, it always melts in the mouth. I had to hide the box from my husband, or he would have eaten it all himself! Toffee has never tasted sooooooo good!

I received my first Enstrom's almond toffee for Christmas in 1971. I was 18. I started buying it the following Christmas and have bought it many times since. The quality is always spot on. True it is no longer $2.50 per pound. It is, however, truly the best almond toffee.

There is no other like it. Another reviewer mentioned that it's the only candy that can be found in their house. Found in their house? We can hardly keep it in our house! We have to hide it from ourselves! Can you do that? It doesn't work. We carefully dole out one piece a day in the evening to make it last. Our community college baseball team visited Grand Junction for the World Series on 1978 from Rochester, NY. There we were introduced to this fabulous toffee. My parents moved to Grand Junction, and upon our first visit they said, “You should go visit Enstrom’s. We think you’ll like it.” That was an understatement! I have used it for many gifts and after introducing it to my Father, he used it for office gifts. Those who received it said it was all they wanted going forward. It is unbelievable how great it tastes compared to others. I highly recommend it for any toffee lover.

First and foremost, I am not a fan of toffee at all. I am used to trying rock hard, overly sweet and too chewy toffee. However, I absolutely love this product. This is a complete shock, dare I say, a revelation! The bite has a slight resistance which gives away to a slowly melting toffee center. Slightly chewy but not overbearing. I cannot be more surprised. The flavors are subtle and melt together for a creamy, satisfactory bite. Once you have a bite, you will not be able to resist going back again...and again... As a kid growing up in Grand Junction many years ago, I once got to go to Chet and Vern Enstrom's home on Chipeta Avenue and watched Chet make almond toffee to give to his friends and business associates. At that time, he was operating his ice cream company, Velvet Ice Cream, and wasn't selling toffee. He had a big metal pot in their basement, a gas open flame to heat it, and a large metal table with cold water running under it. He'd stir the butter, sugar, and other ingredients in that pot with what looked like an axe handle -- almost like a spooky scene out of a movie -- and then heave the hot toffee onto the table and smooth it out to cool, adding chocolate and chopped almonds. He did it all by himself. Now it's done by dozens of employees in a large factory and is sold round the world.I can't help seeing that scene every year as I enjoy my annual ration of Enstrom's Almond Toffee. Yum. The first time I recall Enstrom Toffee was when I was in college in '76, my first Christmas away from my parent's home in Boulder, CO. A care box of Enstrom Toffee arrived just before finals, my dad did Enstrom for gifts to business associates and family every year. I did do the jump to the Dark Toffee like a decade ago, I love how someone new to Enstrom will ask " What IS in THIS!!!" , there is serious competition in the house who gets the almond dust from the box on their ice cream. When I ask my sons if they want Enstrom, the typical reply is "can I get the big box this year?" 40 years now with maybe 5 years in there without.

Our office receives so many sweets over the holidays, including toffee from other manufacturers. The almond coating balances the sweetness of the toffee so it isn't too overwhelming, and the toffee is so buttery yummy I can't even describe how good it is. If you are looking for something to send your clients or family over the holidays, Enstrom toffee will be something that isn't tossed in the garbage (yes I toss many sweets in the garbage because why gain wait over something that is okay but not great). But this toffee is too superior for the garbage, and every bite needs to be savored, it is just that good!

I became hooked on Enstrom's Toffee while working at the box office of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. The Enstrom's sent a massive box of toffee to the director each year for Christmas, which the director was gracious enough to share with the staff. Not being a Colorado native, I had no idea how dangerous and addictive this stuff was. It all started with one innocent trip to the toffee box. Then a second.
